Gladys also loved to travel. She and her husband, with their many friends, went on countless memorable trips together. Gladys also loved to play cards and have her late afternoon cocktail, her "drinky do time" is what she called it.

Gladys was a long time communicant of First Lutheran Church in Holyoke.
