<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size:18px;"><em><strong>Paul Louis Mayson</strong></em></span>, <span style="font-size:16px;">age 86, a native of Mobile, Alabama and longtime resident of Dauphin Island, passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 25, 2020. He is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Martha Caudle Mayson and his parents, &lsquo;Cocky&rsquo; and Lillian Mayson. Paul is survived by his three children and six grandchildren; daughters, Carolyn (Mark Miller) and Julie (Jamie Atkinson); son, Paul Mayson, Jr. (Christy Barton); grandchildren, Daly Miller, Dean, Lilly and Mayson Atkinson, and Emmie and Paul Mayson, III. He is also survived by his older brother, Wilmer Mayson. Paul graduated high school from UMS in Mobile before serving in the United States Army for two years in Germany. He graduated Auburn University and was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Paul worked for Mobile Paint and then Mobile Paperboard &amp; Recycling until his retirement. He served on the Board of Adjustments at Dauphin Island. Paul was active in his church all his life until his health declined, first, Christ Episcopal Church in Mobile and then St. Francis Episcopal on Dauphin Island. He was an avid hunter and fisherman all his life &mdash; Battles Wharf during his youth, Dog River where he raised his family and finally his beloved Dauphin Island. His life was a life well lived and filled with the love of family and many, many friends, a &lsquo;few&rsquo; cold beers, dancing, porch sittin&rsquo;, practical jokes, and storytelling. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Francis Episcopal Church, 401 Key St., Dauphin Island, AL 36528 and to the Dauphin Island Sea Lab, 101 Bienville Blvd, Dauphin Island, AL 36528.
