Judy Doreen Penney Obituary

It is with deep sadness that the family of the late Judy Doreen (Mitchell) Penney announces her passing. Judy slipped peacefully into the presence of the Lord at the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre, Fort McMurray, AB on November 25th, 2020 at the age of 57 years. Judy was blessed to have married the love of her life, Howard, and they spent forty wonderful years together. During that time, they raised two wonderful children, Mark and Melissa, whom she loved and treasured unconditionally. Her life was a living example of what it is to be kind and compassionate to everyone. She made friends everywhere she went, and always made people around her laugh. Her faith, along with her strong-willed, determined, and persistent attitude, were some of her many beautiful qualities as a person. She cherished everyone she met, in a loving and accepting manner. Through tragedy and recovery, she was a beacon of hope, support, strength, and faith. She will be forever remembered by those whose lives she has touched. Judy is predeceased by her father - Sidney Mitchell; brother - Norman Mitchell; daughter-in-law - Courtney Penney; father-In-law - Frederick Penney and brother-in-law - Dwight Penney. Left with found and loving memories is her husband - Howard Penney, Fort McMurray, AB; children - Mark Penney (Jay), Spruce Grove, AB and Melissa Penney, Spruce Grove, AB; mother - Effie Burton, Robert’s Arm, NL; brothers - Hayward Mitchell (Sherry), Robert’s Arm, NL and Richard Mitchell, Robert’s Arm, NL; mother-in-law - Ada Penney; siblings-in-law - Hughie Penney (Diane), Ralph Penney (Renee), Lorne Penney (Alishia), Robert Penney, Dale Penney, Taffie Robinson (Dean), Trudy Young (Gerald), Tamara Penney, Tracey Penney (Craig), as well as many nieces, nephews and a large circle of extended family, and friends. As an expression of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted, or donations may be made in Judy’s Memory to Sorrentino’s Compassion House (https://www.compassionhouse.org) Due to regulations pertaining to the global pandemic and associated restrictions, Visitation will remain private for the immediate family. Pastors Edwin & Rhoda Rideout will conduct a Private Family Funeral Service at the Family Christian Centre, Fort McMurray, AB. Interment took place at Word of Life Pentecostal Cemetery, Roberts Arm, NL on Thursday, December 10th, 2020. We encourage extended family and friends to share condolences, memories and/or photos to Judy's memorial wall, available on our website. All items will be documented and displayed in our personalized guestbook and presented to the Penney family. “I've journeyed a lifetime in search of a city, a haven of rest for my tired soul - by faith I have seen it just o'er the horizon, from all I can tell, it sure looks like home! That haven called Heaven, a place for the weary, where those with a burden will lay down their load; I will rest from my labor, in the arms of my Saviour, in that haven called Heaven at the end of the road.” Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Foster Funeral Home, 22 Main Street, Baie Verte, NL. “A Source of Peace in the Midst of the Storm”
