Betty Lou Holland Obituary

Betty Lou Holland was born April 6, 1942 in Loris, South Carolina to Charlie and Mary Jones. She attended school in Loris and graduated from Finklea High School.

She gave herself to Christ, an early age, at Silent Grove Baptist Church in Loris. In Los Angeles she was a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church. She would later move her membership to Galilee Baptist church in Longview, Texas where attended until her health started failing.

She met her husband, Arvil Larry “Tot” Holland, in Chicago, Illinois. Shortly afterward, they would move to Los Angeles, California to raise their family. In 1979, they would later relocate to Longview, Texas to enjoy country life. She retired from FedEx many years ago. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren. Betty Lou would often vacation in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina with her family each summer. She also had a passion for couponing and garage sales. Her husband would often tell her, “Don’t bring any more “junk” in this house”! She also really loved going fishing with her husband at the pond behind their home.

She is preceded in death by her husband, father and mother, and her sisters Zenobia Reaux, Zeradia Daily and her brother Charlie “Buck” Jones.

She leaves to cherish her daughter, Sharon (Keith) Marshall and son, Reggie (Carrie) Holland. She adored her five grandchildren, Cameo, Joshua, Ryan, Regina and Stephen.  She leaves two amazing great grandchildren, Kyzer and Brynlee. All of Longview, Texas. She is also survived by her sister Mattie Thomas (Gene) from Los Angeles, California. She is also survived by her in-laws by marriage, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
