Mr. Charles Laverne Moyer

Mr. Charles Laverne Moyer, 73, of Gloverville, SC, entered into rest on Tuesday, November 24, 2020.        A lifelong resident of Aiken County, SC, he was a son of the late Heyward, Jr. and Pauline Diane Williams Moyer. A Vietnam Veteran, he proudly and with honor served his country in the United States Marine Corps, earning the rank of Lance Corporal. He was a retired Painter and also formerly owned and operated Next Generation and Laverne’s Bar and Grill. He enjoyed fishing and writing poetry. More than anything, he enjoyed singing. Laverne was in his own words, a “self-proclaimed country music star.”       In addition to his parents, family members include his children, Paula Spradley, Prosperity, SC, Charles “Bubba” Moyer, Jr. and his wife, Peggy, Trenton, SC, Eddie Moyer and his companion, Brandy Moore, Bath, SC and Kenneth “Hip” Moyer, Gloverville, SC; siblings, Larry Moyer, Gloverville, SC, Mickey Garvin, Norfolk, VA and the late Heyward Gene Moyer, former wife, still friend and mother of his children, Ann Moyer, Prosperity, SC; grandchildren, Joey Spradley. Jr., Justin Spradley, Brittany Boatwright, Christopher Moyer, Brenden Moyer, Hailey Murphy, Sara Bailey, Hellena Moyer, Abigail Moyer, Kenneth Moyer, Madison Moyer and Mason Moyer, great-grands, Brody Parrish, Myles Spradley, Lawson Spradley, Colbey Mitchum ,Colton Mitchum Penelope Bailey, Carter Murphy and Lilynn Baileyand numerous nephews and nieces that he loved.       The family will greet friends on Friday, November 27, 2020, from 1 until 2:30 at Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Highway Graniteville, SC. A graveside service with Veterans Honors accorded by a United States Marine Corps Honor Guard, will follow at 3 o’clock in Langley Cemetery, Langley, SC.
