John Milton Shutters, 60, Carthage, Missouri, passed away Monday, November 23, 2020 at Freeman Hospital West, Joplin, Missouri. John was born January 6, 1960 in Rockford, Illinois, the son of Clifford Melvin Shutters and Clovia Marie (Espinoza) Shutters. John married Michell Lynn Thornsbrough on August 22, 1981 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He worked in the maintenance department at Gilster-Mary Lee in Joplin. John loved riding motorcycles and going fishing, but most of all, loved his family and friends. Survivors include a daughter, Reba Dalon (Melvin), Stotts City, Missouri; five sons, John A. Shutters, Carthage, Bobby Ray Shutters (Crystal), Carthage, Clifford W. Shutters, Carthage, Joshua Shutters (Cyndy), Carl Junction, Missouri, and David Lee Shutters, Carthage; two sisters, Barbara Normington, and Carmen Shutters; twenty-eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Michell Shutters; two sisters, Betty Jean Shutters, and Pauline Gomez; and a granddaughter, Jadyn A. Shutters. Graveside funeral services will be held 11:30 am, Monday, November 30, 2020 at Fasken Cemetery, Carthage. The family will receive friends from 10-11 am, Monday, November 30.
