Isaac Coleman, 91 years of age of Grundy, VA, passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Heritage Hall. Born May 4, 1929 in Pikeville, KY, he was the son of the late Frank and Bitha Bentley Coleman. Isaac was a retired coal miner, having worked at Harman Mining, member of UMWA, and was the oldest member of Bethlehem Old Regular Baptist Church of Poplar Creek. He was an avid bee keeper and enjoyed yard work, gardening, carpentry and spending time with his family. He was a loving father and pawpaw. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Georgie Stacy Coleman, 2nd wife Vera Mae Woods Coleman, son Jackie Dean Coleman, daughter Emily Whitt, brothers Bobby, Glenn, Levi, Ray and Bascom Coleman, sisters Betty Stiltner, Lola Stiltner, Louise Stiltner, and son-in-law Woodrow Lester. Those left to cherish his memories include his daughters Janice Lester of Big Rock, VA, Brenda Clevinger and husband Hensley of Grundy, Va, Linda Fraley and husband Danny of Big Rock, VA; sons Roy Lee Coleman of Richlands, VA, James Ray Coleman of Newton, NC. He is also survived by his son-in-law Danny Whitt, step-daughters Kim Stiltner and husband Pat of Grundy, VA, Pamela Skeens of Abingdon, VA; grandchildren Kennith Dean Coleman, Timmy Clevinger, Aaron Clevinger, Katessia Lester Charles, Coty Fraley, Eathen Fraley, several great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral service Isaac Coleman will be held at the Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home Chapel of Grundy, VA, Saturday, November 28, 2020 at 12:00 noon with Elders Jim Blankenship, David O’Quinn, Jimmy Yates, Jamie McClanahan and Austin Bradley officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA. Active pallbearers will be his grandchildren. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. J. G. Patel and staff of Grundy Heritage Hall. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, November 27th beginning at 6:00 p.m. with an evening service at 7:00 p.m..
