Douglas "Doug" Fish, age 68 of Hastings, passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2020. Preceded in death by his parents Melban and Eleanor (Miller) Fish. Doug is survived by his wife, Marcia; son Michael (Liza) Fish, step-sons Taylor (Kelsey) Vander Aarde and Luke (Lanette) Vander Aarde; grandchildren Ryan, Ethan, Bailey, Logan, Brooklyn, Jacob and Jonah; and sister Diane (Michael) Quinn; and by other relatives and friends. Doug was born in St. Paul on January 5, 1952. He graduated from Moundsview High School and then played football for and graduated from Augsburg College. He began his teaching career in Mound before moving to Rosemount Middle School. Mr. Fish quickly became a student favorite and spent 37 years as a physical education and health teacher. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching sports, the outdoors, fishing and living on his hobby farm. The family will host an outdoor celebration of Doug’s life on Saturday, November 28th from 4-5pm at the family hobby farm, 21050 Red Wing Blvd., Hastings, MN 55033. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Doug’s name to the Christian Worship Hour. Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
