Centerville, GA – John Alvin Bagley, Jr., 83, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Southern Pines Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Services celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Centerville United Methodist Church at 2:00 pm with Reverends Tommy Odom and Kevin Clotfelter officiating. Due to the current covid-19 restrictions, everyone who wishes to attend the services are required to wear a mask and maintain social distancing guidelines. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Centerville United Methodist Church, 600 N. Houston Lake Blvd., Centerville, GA 31028 or to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Dr, Warner Robins, GA 31088. John was born on October 4, 1937 in Douglas, GA to the late John Alvin Bagley, Sr., and Clytie (Jones) Bagley. He faithfully and honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. After moving to Warner Robins in 1965, he worked for a number of years as the credit manager for Warner Robins Supply Company, later moving to a salesman at Green and Harris Lumber Company, then Lowe’s Home Improvement Warehouse. John retired as insurance salesman for United Healthcare. For 22 years, John also worked alongside his wife at her store, The Kitchen Gallery. He was a faithful and dedicated member of Centerville United Methodist Church and the Issues and Answers Sunday School Class. He was a member of the United Methodist Men’s Group and the past president. John was a charter member of the Warner Robins Civitan Club, where he served as past president. He was a member of the Jaycees and in his spare time, he enjoyed collecting antiques. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his sister, Clarita Johnston. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 63 years, Ferrelle (McDonald) Bagley of Centerville; daughter: Laura Bagley Ganas of Warner Robins; sons: Mike Bagley (Jamie) of Georgetown, KY and Spencer Bagley (Centerville); granddaughters: Regan Webb, Clare Ganas and Jordan Bagley; grandson: Reed Bagley (Holly); great-granddaughter: Peyton Duvall; several nieces and nephews. With honor, Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory have been entrusted with arrangements.
