William H. "Billy" Adams, Jr. Obituary

COLEBROOK – Billy Adams died on November 22, 2020 peacefully at his home in Colebrook after a long illness. He was well known as “Billy” of “Bubba” at the Riverton General Store, his many friends knew him as a comic but also serious. His humorous side was making everything happy again. The girls thought of him as John Candy, the actor, because they always felt safe with Billy around mainly because he was heavyset with twinkling, beautiful blue eyes. Billy owned his own company as William H. Trucking in the 80’s. He then worked at his woodworking and milling business to present. His hobby was making miniature tables and butcher blocks. He played golf for charity and hit a “hole in one.” He loved his craft and continued working until his death. He was intelligent, had a photographic memory and enjoyed sitting in his office ordering parts and talking with customers. He was always reading sometimes well into the late night. He was a perfectionist if he said or told you something, he was usually right and backed it up with facts. He even knew about law. If I had a question that concerned the law, my brother and I would argue back and forth for accurate facts. He loved to argue when he was right. His favorite greeting when answering the phone was “state your business.” He leaves his only relative, his sister, Gail V. Adams of Colebrook and many friends and woodsmen who loved nature like Billy. There will be no calling hours. Montano-Shea Funeral Home, 922 Main Street, Winsted has care of the arrangements. He will be missed. Visit an online guestbook at montano-shea.com.
