Earnest Strunk

<p><strong>Earnest Strunk, age 88 of the Paint Rock Community in Oneida, TN, passed away on Monday, November 23, 2020 at the Turkey Creek Medical Center in Knoxville, TN.&nbsp; Born February 19, 1932 in Oneida, TN, he was the son of the late Roy and Laura Bell Reed Strunk.&nbsp; Earnest was a disabled Veteran of the United States Army, having been bestowed two purple hearts during the Korean War.</strong></p> <p><strong>In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife:&nbsp; Jo Dean Owens Strunk; 4 children:&nbsp; Daniel, Danny, Jimmy Ray Strunk, and Vicki Strunk Conley; and sister:&nbsp; Dilly Strunk Lee of Cincinnati, OH.</strong></p> <p><strong>Earnest is survived by his 4 children:&nbsp; Jerry Strunk, Patty McGowen, Tammy Murphy and Roy Strunk; 15 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 1 sister:&nbsp; Betty Jean Strunk Williams of Cincinnati, OH; and a host of nieces and nephews, other family members and friends.&nbsp; The family would like to extend a special thank you to his dialysis team, DCI in Caryville, TN, for their loving and supportive care of their father.</strong></p> <p><strong>A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in the Owens-Phillips Cemetery in the Buffalo Community in Oneida, TN.&nbsp; Pallbearers will be his grandsons.</strong></p> <p><strong>Jones &amp; Son Funeral Home is serving the family of Earnest Strunk.</strong></p>

Papaw Earnie will be missed dearly. He was a wonderful person and grandfather, and was always ready to listen to anything you wanted to talk to him about. Thanks for the all wonderful memories.
