Audrey Atwater Polen, 91, of Liberty Township, OH and formerly Oak Harbor, OH passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Triple Creek Retirement Community. She was born on June 12, 1929 in Oak Harbor to the late Raymond and Opal (Worthington) Atwater. On June 16, 1979 in Dayton, OH she married Paul Polen, and he preceded her in death on March 7, 2014. She was a graduate of Bowling Green State University in 1951 and was a Business Education teacher in Miamisburg High School, Miamisburg, OH for 25 years. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Oak Harbor. Audrey enjoyed golfing, reading, and playing Bridge. She is survived by two daughters, Kathy (Robert) Shepherd of Liberty Township, OH and Mary (Thomas) Bascom of Cincinnati, OH, 4 grandchildren, Brian and Stephen Bascom, Jamie (Ryan) Becker, and Rebecca (Joseph) Hovey, 5 great grandsons, and 1 great granddaughter. She was preceded in death as well by her brother, Donald Atwater. Graveside services for Audrey will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor. Memorial contributions in memory of Audrey may be given to a charity of the donor’s choice. The Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Oak Harbor is assisting the family with arrangements.
