Fee Har Lee Obituary

Fee Har Lee, 95, passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 23rd, 2020 at Lakewood Nursing Center in Plainfield, IL. Private family service to be held on Wednesday, November 25th at Overman-Jones in Plainfield, IL. Fee was born in China on June 4, 1925. She married George Loo in China. She raised her son on her own in Hong Kong before rejoining her husband in Aurora, IL in 1970. She eventually became a U.S. citizen. When her son and his family moved to Aurora and opened Fung Tou restaurant in Batavia, IL, MaMa (as she was known to the four beloved grandchildren she helped raise) became the head chef. She was known and loved by many patrons to the restaurant. She would come from the back of the kitchen with a big hello and then wave her hand to remind you she wouldn’t understand anything else to be said. Without speaking English, MaMa always found a way to express herself. Her early life was full of challenges that made her fiercely tough. She was strong of character, loved with her whole heart and never felt you had had enough to eat. And Bok, as she wanted to be known by her great-grandchildren, will live on in the memories of her family and friends. Fee is survived by her son, Ricky Loo and daughter-in-law Lency Loo of Plainfield, IL; her grandchildren, Chung Loo of Berwyn, IL, Kit (Jeannette) Loo of Lynnwood, WA, Susan (Steve) Jacklitch of Eagan, MN and Jason (Katy) Loo of Naperville, IL; her great-grandchildren, Drew and Riley Jacklitch, Cori, Nate and Evan Loo. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Loo.
