A Graveside Service for Mrs. Dezarine Hampton Petty, 60 of Decatur will be 1:00 p.m. Sunday, November 29, 2020 at Sterrs Cemetery with The Reverend Dylan Woodall officiating..  Public viewing will be Saturday from 10-2 and Sunday from 9:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m. at Reynolds Funeral Home

Dezarine Hampton Petty was born December 11, 1959 to the late William Joseph Hampton and the late Annie Elizabeth Dancy Watkins. She departed this life on November 24, 2020 in Florence, Alabama at North Alabama Medical Center.

She accepted Christ at an early age and joined First Missionary Baptist Church in Decatur. She later united with St. James Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America.

Dezarine Petty was united in holy matrimony to her old school lover, Leon Petty for 44 years. She devoted her time loving and caring for her family and grandchildren.  She was employed at Center for Developmentally Disabled (CDD) until her health failed.  She enjoyed and was gifted in sewing, making t-shirts, blankets, knitting and all types of arts and crafts.

She was preceded in death by: her parent,  three sisters, Elizabeth Madden, Cynthia Hampton, Lucy Mae Hampton; three brothers, Don C. Hampton, Alandress Hampton, Lamont Watkins; stepfather, Earnest Watkins; grandson, Grayson Hampton; three brothers-in- law, Kenny Petty, Emmanuel Jenkins and Sammy Dancy Jr; mother-in-law, Beatrice Petty; grandmother-in-law,  Mary Doc Petty; aunt, Emma Roberts; and uncle, Robert Russell.

She leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Leon Petty; five sons, Olandress (Trimeka) Hampton, Leonidas Hampton, Justin Billings. Churmell Mitchell and Tyler Sales all of Decatur; 10 grandchildren, Trejon Hampton, Nadia Tucker, Jartavious Moore, Aniyah Tisdale, Jabrell Hampton, Zaylin Taylor Au”Jumee Hampton, Prince Mitchell, Princess Mitchell and Anyla Harris; seven sisters, Dorothy Orr, Joyce Orr, Ada Biddings, Lucenier Cross (Wilson) all of Decatur, Cassandra Hicks, Felicia Falconer, Lynnis Katrina Steyer all of Huntsville; three brothers, Alton Orr (Jean), William Hampton and Derrick Hampton all of Decatur; three brothers-in-law, James Petty of Dallas, TX, Jimmy Petty (Benetta), Joel Taylor (Beverly) all of Decatur; two sisters-in-law, Mary Dale, Vickie Wallace; four aunts, Emma Dancy Smoke, Betty Jean Fennell, Bernice Nell Echols, Dell Moore all of Decatur; dear friends, Yolanda Watkins, Shaba Taylor, Tonya Cobey and Cynthia Cheatham; and a host of nieces nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends
