Bobby A. Graham Obituary

Bobby A. Graham, 95, of Eugene, Missouri passed away Sunday, November 22nd at Rock Island Village in Eldon.  He was born August 3, 1925 the son of O.C. and Rose (Frank) Graham.  Bobby was united in marriage on February 2, 1947 to Wanda (Bontrager) Graham who preceded him in death on September 18, 2020.

Following high school graduation in 1943, Bobby joined the United States Army.  He began his WWII service with basic training at Ft. Leonard Wood and was later assigned to Company A 239th Engineer Construction Battalion.

In early 1944, Bob and his fellow battalion members began their journey to the South Pacific where they served in New Guinea and the Philippine Islands.  He was discharged from active duty in February of 1946 following thirty months of service, twenty of which were overseas. For his service, he was awarded the Asiatic PAC Theatre Campaign Ribbon, two Bronze Stars, the Good Conduct Medal and the Victory Ribbon.

Upon his return home, Bob began farming alongside Wanda, and eventually, with their three sons.  For over 70 years, the Grahams raised chickens, turkeys and registered Angus cattle.

Bob’s greatest hobby was showing foxtrotter horses, winning numerous awards over his 40+ years of riding.  Later in life, he enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s athletic and school activities.

He was a member of Eugene Christian Church, and through the years, he was active in the community as a member of Spring Garden Community Club, Eugene Saddle Club, Eugene Cemetery Board, Cole R-V School Board, Miller County Farm Bureau and proudly served on the Three Rivers Electric Board of Directors for 27 years.
