Robert Harold King, Sr. Obituary

Robert Harold "Bob" King, Sr. was born October 19, 1933 in Nebraska City, NE, the son of the late Jennie Leota (Llewellyn) King and Howard Lafayette King. Bob left us on November 13, 2020.

In his early twenties, Bob was drafted into the US Army where he served two years in Germany. Upon return, he went to work as a machinist at Melpar under the direction of John Bivins, his mentor. In 1962, he and fellow employee Mr. Bivins opened their own machine shop, Halpro, Inc. Their goal was to offer the highest quality machine work at reasonable prices. He kept that word for over 50 years. Bob and his wife, Mary Ann, lived in Rockville and then Annapolis, MD during the time he worked at Halpro. His passion was boating and then golf in his later years. He and Mary Ann retired to Hilton Head, SC in 2006, where he continued to play golf until his health no longer permitted it.

Left to morn his loss is his wife, Mary Ann (Kravats), whom he married in 1977, and his children, Karen (Edward Lowe) and Bob, Jr. (Terri). Grandchildren include Sean Michael Trego, Todd Brandon Trego, Eric Cameron King, and Jessica Iris King.
