Sha'Niyah Victoria Rimmer age 11 of Charles City, IA passed away Thursday, November 19, 2020, at the University of Iowa Children's Hospital in Iowa City after a courageous battle with idiopathic aplastic anemia. A Private Family Memorial Service will be held 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 28, 2020, with Funeral Celebrant Andrew Hugeback presiding. Please join in with the family on Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory's Facebook page. Sha’Niyah Victoria Rimmer was born October 3, 2009, at MetroSouth Medical Center in Blue Island, IL. She was the second child born to William Terrel Peavy and Shantell Denise Rimmer. Sha’Niyah attended Lincoln Elementary School in Charles City, Iowa. Her teachers described her as sweet, outgoing and a great leader. She truly enjoyed science and loved everything about nature. Niyah loved reading books and had the entire collection of Diary of a Wimpy Kid. She also enjoyed drawing, doodling, and journaling. Sha’Niyah was known for her dancing and will forever be the “Tik-Tok Queen.” Her sass, beauty and spunk will forever be engraved in our hearts and minds. Sha’Niyah was diagnosed with Severe Aplastic Anemia. She faced her diagnosis with resilience and fortitude that inspired all who knew of her story. Niyah’s strength was admirable, courage was undeniable, and grace was unforgettable. Though she faced a myriad of challenges that set her apart from her peers in many ways, Sha’Niyah had the ability to connect with people everywhere she went. She especially had a close relationship with her siblings and cousins. Sha’Niyah’s loving and giving heart was made evident by her sweet text/calls, volunteering, and being mom and dad’s little helper. Whenever Niyah was around no one wanted or needed anything because she either knew just what to do or was ready to assist if needed. Sha’Niyah has always been a breath of fresh air, and her light will forever shine bright. Sha’Niyah leaves to cherish her memory: Her father William Terrel Peavy Jr. (Shanice Sartin); mother Shantell Rimmer (Lorenzo Blackmen); siblings La’Miyah Peavy, William Peavy, Ayanna Peavy, Demetrius Peavy, and Layla Blackmen; paternal grandparents Brenda Porter and William Peavy Sr.; maternal grandparents Sherron Rimmer and Bruce Clark; Godmothers Shaylyn Woods and Joy Colson; and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and an abundance of Very Special Friends who loved her.
