Deanna Kay Vos Obituary

Mrs. Deanna Kay Johnson Vos, 76, a resident of Oak Ridge, passed away November 23, 2020 in Hospice of the Piedmont. Mrs. Vos was born on May 31, 1944 in Guilford County to the late William and Ellen Johnson. She retired from High Point Regional Hospital after many years of service as a registered nurse. She attended Guilford College, where she met her husband Gary Vos. They were married October 10, 1970. She was an active member of the Greensboro Weatherspoon Guild, a member of the Oak Ridge United Methodist Church, a docent at Blandwood Mansion, and in her younger years was a member of the Oak Ridge Elementary School PTA. Mrs. Vos was a proud Ballet and Hockey Mom who supported her children at all of their events. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Johnson.

Mrs. Vos is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Gary Vos, of the home; her children, Amanda Strader (Tyler) of Summerfield and Alexander Vos (Erin) of Indian Land, SC; a niece Cindy Wyrick (Steve) of McLeansville; and grandchildren, Corey, Colin, Lincoln, Lennon.

A private memorial service will be held by the family. A public celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Triad Cremation and Funeral Service is assisting the family.

The Vos family would like to express our sincere appreciation to Dr. Chinnasami and his staff for their unrelenting efforts and never giving up hope. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Children's Home Society of North Carolina.
