Mrs. Grace Murray, a resident of Brandon Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Roanoke,
passed away on November 22, 2020. Born Grace Godwin in Brighton England on December 2,
1923, she married a Canadian soldier, Ronald Howard Murray of Tabinsintac, New Brunswick,
Canada and immigrated to Moncton, NB, Canada in 1946. In 1958 they immigrated to
Connecticut and became American citizens. Upon retirement they lived in Yarmouthport, Mass
until Grace moved to Virginia after Ron’s death.
She leaves behind four children: Carol Himes of Cary, NC, Kevin Murray and his wife Martha of
Moneta, VA, Dallas Murray of Vinyl Haven, Maine and Kerry Park of North Kingstown, RI. She
also leaves behind grandchildren Wesley Himes and wife Rachel, Sonja Himes, Stacey Himes
Gangemi and husband Joe, Kris Dale and husband Derrin Tilman, Marshal Murray and his wife
Megan, Devon Park, Connor Park and multiple great grandchildren.
The family wishes to express gratitude to the nurses and staff at Brandon Oak Nursing and
Rehabilitation Center in Roanoke for the excellent and loving care shown to our Mother during
her stay at their facility. Memorials may be made to Brandon Oaks Resident Endowment Fund,
