She was the youngest of three children; a brother, the late, David Martin Muckle, and a sister, the late, Martha Elizabeth Muckle Todd. She quietly departed this life on Monday, November 23, 2020 at the residence of her daughter and son-in-law’s home, in Chesapeake, Virginia. At an early age, Helen attended Saint Paul A.M.E. Church and the Ebenezer Baptist Church, both in Portsmouth, Virginia. Later on in life, she joined the Ebenezer Baptist Church. Helen was educated in the public school system of Portsmouth, Virginia. After graduating from I. C. Norcom High School, she successfully earned her license in cosmetology. She mastered her skills while applying her professional training when servicing her loyal clients, friends and family. She loved her profession and took her work to heart. Later in life, Helen met and married, the late, Theodore Tillmon Sr. There were two children born to this union: the late, Theodore Tillmon Jr. and Juanita L. Marable (Vernon). Helen and her husband left the Virginia area to explore the southern farm life and so they moved to Windsor, North Carolina and made many friends while there. Helen enjoyed reading the Bible and applied it to her daily life. After moving back to the Virginia area, she enjoyed attending meetings at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses with her daughter and son-in-law. She had no problems meeting and making new friends because she was loving, kind, affectionate, an encourager (always upbuilding) and available to listen to others. She had a sense of humor, a beautiful smile and a wonderful laugh; she was a woman full of faith, love and wisdom. She leaves to cherish her memory her niece, Susie Todd Edwards and nephew, William S. Todd (Bobbie); many grandchildren, great- grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, many grand nieces, grand nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors.
