Mr. James Edward Barnes, 70, a resident of High Point, passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2020 at his residence. Mr. Barnes was born to the late George and Edith Barnes on April 15, 1950. He worked in the furniture industry for many years. Mr. Barnes enjoyed collecting knives and was an outdoorsman who loved fishing. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew him. Mr. Barnes was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Yvonne Barnes; son, David Hess; and siblings, Bretta, Ann, Judy, Debbie, Roger, and Lee.

Mr. Barnes is survived by his daughter, Karla Proctor (Donald) of High Point; granddaughter, Jodi Flores (David) of High Point; grandson, William Hess of Wallburg; great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Hayden; brother, Jerry Barnes of Mullins, WV; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held by the family at a later date. Triad Cremation and Funeral Service is assisting the family.
