James Archie Sluss

JAMES ARCHIE SLUSS Haysi, VA- James Archie Sluss, age 78 of Big Ridge Road, passed away Sunday, November 22, 2020 at Dickenson Community Hospital in Clintwood, VA. He was a son of the late Garmon and Maxie Nowlin Sluss. He was a retired coal miner and member of Local Union #7170 where he served as Treasuer and Financial Secretary for over 40 years, he was of the Christian faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Carley Gene Sluss and sisters, Angelica Madeline Shortridge and Patricia Ann Epling. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn, a daughter, Denisha Sluss of Nevada, a son, James Eric (Rhonda Lynn) Sluss of Canton, GA, grandchildren, Keiayra Sluss, Katie Jane Sluss, Korbyn Sluss, James Brandon (Brittany) Sluss, Austin Brody (Karlee) Sluss, John (Naddia) White and Courtney Brianna Sluss, great-grandchildren, Braelyn Sluss, Austin Barrett Sluss, Emeia Sluss, Clara James White and Johnny Coal Stanley, a brother, Danny (Sandy) Sluss and a sister, Sonja McCowan both of Haysi.
