Virginia “Ginny” Glazier Sacchi, 89, of Boise, Idaho, passed away from COVID-19, Sunday, November 15, 2020. She was born to Ardeen and Elwina Glazier on January 26, 1931, at home in Gracie, New York. After graduating from Dryden High School, she pursued a nursing degree from the University of Buffalo and worked in the hospital’s pediatric ward. On April 23, 1963, Ginny married the love of her life, Luigi Sacchi, and they lived in Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania, until 2009, when Ginny and Luigi relocated to Boise, Idaho, to be closer to their granddaughters. Ginny will be dearly missed by her loving husband of 57 years, Luigi; children Joanna (Bob) Hatton and John (Susan) Sacchi; granddaughters Katey and Rachel Sacchi; siblings Eleanor MacRoberts, Eddie (Bonnie) Glazier, and Elwina Lama. Ginny was predeceased by her parents, five siblings, and her infant son, Louie, Jr. Mom was a compassionate, kind and generous soul whose passion was caring for others. She always saw the good in people, championed the underdog, and listened without judgment. She worked several years as a nurse before opening her home to children in Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania. Mom modestly called it babysitting, but in truth, she cared for and helped shape young lives for over forty years. Mom enjoyed quilting and was a voracious reader. She loved a raging campfire, a good joke, and spending time with friends and family, especially her adoring granddaughters. Mom never turned down an adventure and just a few weeks ago was still talking about getting a tattoo. Mom will be buried at a private ceremony at the Idaho State Veteran’s Cemetery, Boise, Idaho, December 7, 2020. A celebration of life will be scheduled next summer when it is safer for everyone to gather.
