Clifford Lawrence Hampton, New Brunswick Obituary

Clifford Lawrence

It is with heavy hearts the family of Clifford Lawrence announce his sudden passing at his home in Hampton on Monday January 28, 2019. Born in 1948 he is the son of Joyce (Ketchum) Lawrence of Hampton and the late Karl Lawrence, who passed away in 2013. Clifford is survived by his loving wife Christine (Mercer) Lawrence and his 3 children; Jonathan Lawrence of Hampton, Sheila Nice (John) of Kingston and Grace O’Brien (Donald) of Hampton, 2 brothers; G. Andrew Lawrence of Saint John and Kenneth Lawrence (Karen) of Saint John, 2 sisters; Christine King (Carl) of Saint John and Rita Oickle (Clayton) of Saint John, 3 grandsons; John Karl, Nathan and James. Clifford was an active member in the Church of Central Kings, and served for several years as the Warden for the Church of the Ascension and the cemetery committee. He was also involved with a number of projects with Saint John Non Profit Housing. He enjoyed doing what he did for a living, and was in no hurry to retire. Clifford was known for his dry humor and the "nicknames" he used for his loved ones. In his free time he enjoyed doing puzzles, playing on his iPad, working on his family tree. Clifford was always ready with his camera, even though he was camera shy himself. Clifford was a man of few words, but he loved his family and had a special place in his heart for his dogs Buster and Penny. Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB, where visitation will be held on Friday, February 1, 2019 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. A funeral service will be held at the Church of the Ascension, 31 Norton Shore Rd., Hampton, 11:00 am Saturday, February 2, 2019. Interment will take place at a later date in the Church of the Ascension, Anglican Cemetery. Donations in Clifford’s memory can be made to Crohn’s and Colitis Canada, Canadian Liver Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
