Dorothy Lee Hernandez, nee Palmer, of Breese, Illinois passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 22nd at St Joseph’s Hospital in Breese.

Dorothy (Dot to her friends and family) was born on a farm in Minneola, Missouri on May 29th, 1934 the youngest of 9 children. She moved to St. Louis, where she worked for AT&T for 10 years, met and later married Jesse Hernandez on November 9th, 1957 and enjoyed over 39 years together. She was a country girl at heart, a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed reading, good food, and spending time with her family and close friends.

Dot was preceded in death by her husband, parents Louis and Mary Palmer, nee Maness, and siblings William, Fred, Richard, Bessie, Mildred, Lillian, Maude, and Catherine. She is survived by her two children and their spouses, Randy (Patricia) Hernandez of Dallas, Texas and Sandy (Jerry) Strubhart of Aviston, Illinois; grandchildren, Danny Hernandez, Jacob Strubhart, Josh Hernandez, and Luke Strubhart. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

Per her wishes, she will be laid to rest with a private burial at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, donations are requested in her name to the Osteogenesis Imperfecta Foundation.
