Arlette S. Gruetzmacher

Arlette Gruetzmacher, age 96, went to her eternal home on Friday, November 20, 2020 at Pine Crest Nursing Home under hospice care. She was born on February 14, 1924 to Ed and Anna (Acterberg) Jahns in Edgar, Wisconsin. Arlette was a homemaker. She also helped her husband on their farm and was his bookkeeper for his carpentry business. She married the love of her life Alvin Gruetzmacher on February 3, 1945 in Waukesha, Wisconsin. They moved several times in their life, but settled in Pine River, Wisconsin, where they farmed for about twenty years. They enjoyed traveling, fishing, and playing cards. She was also talented in crocheting afghans and completed many for her children. She is survived by her daughter Kathleen (Wendal) Brown, of New Mexico; her son David (Judith) Gruetzmacher, of Wausau; daughter in-law Peggy Gruetzmacher, of Merrill; son in-law Tom Lubovich, of Minnesota; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great- grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by daughter, Carol Lubovich, of Minnesota; son Richard Gruetzmacher, of Merrill; sister Harriet Cole, of Arizona; and brother Ed Jahns, of Gleason. Arlette will be missed by all who knew and loved her. A special thanks to the staff at Pine Crest for their loving care and kindness. Also, a very special thanks to Gracie, her favorite C.N.A. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, Merrill or American Cancer Society in her name. A private family funeral service and burial will take place. Taylor-Stine Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Merrill, is assisting the family.
