Arthur Leonard Linthicum Obituary

Arthur Leonard Linthicum, 84, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his daughters, on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Fairhaven Nursing Home in Sykesville MD. Arthur, also known as "Art", was born on January 13, 1936 to the late Charles and Helen (Brown) Linthicum. Art was a life-long resident of Howard County Maryland and employed as an electrician at the Howard County Board of Education. Art enjoyed a fulfilling retirement attending tractor shows, hunting, and traveling around the country-side. He was a collector of vintage model cars, country life calendars, belt buckles, and John Deere hats. He will especially be remembered for volunteering yearly at the Howard County Fair driving folks around on his "gator." Art was a faithful supporter of the NRA, the Humane Society, and Wounded Warriors. Arthur was the beloved husband of the late Penelope (Putman) Linthicum, cherished father of Nancy Gerwig and Margie Renehan, and step-father of Michele Trankovich. He was "Granddad" to Mary Bridge, Theresa Bridge, Tami Myers, Kara Mackey, and Shelby Renehan; and step-grandfather to Alison and Emily Trankovich. He had 6 wonderful great-grandchildren, Tyler and Isabelle Jackson, Lydia Wallace, Kalen and Konnor Mackey, and Thomas Hill. Arthur is survived by a special friend, Elsie Mae Bassler. Arthur also leaves behind his precious cat, "Tom-Boy" who will continue to be well cared for by the family. Arthur was preceded in death by four brothers, Frank, Charles, James, and David Linthicum. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic all services for Arthur Linthicum will be private. Father Timothy Grayson will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Alzheimer's Association Greater Maryland Chapter.
