Dennis J. "Fig" Copeland

Dennis J. "Fig" Copeland, age 62, of York, died Friday, November 20, 2020 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Violet Copeland and brother, Steven Copeland. He is survived by his wife, Lynn Copeland, children, Miranda Copeland of York, Ashley (Tim) Clark of York, Clayton (Heather) Copeland of Syracuse, grandchildren, Marielle, Stone, Redding and Ellis Clark, grandbaby to be Hailey Copeland, sisters, Sandra Copeland, Laurie (William) Peete all of York, several nieces and nephews. Dennis was born February 16, 1958 in Warsaw, NY the son of Joseph and Violet Copeland. He was a graduate of York Central School class of 1976. Dennis worked for AKZO-Nobel Salt Mine in Retsof, then for Kodak in Rochester and SUNY Geneseo. He was an avid hunter and a longtime member of the York Sportsman's Club. Dennis enjoyed working on his property, especially his garden and maintaining his trails. Everyone that knew him knew he loved York, and York Central School Sports. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in York. A Celebration of Fig's Life will be held at a date and time to be announced when all are able to gather safely.
