Dempsey Deel Haysi, VA – Dempsey Deel, age 74, of Big Ridge Road, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at his residence. Born in Dickenson County, he was a son of the late Bart and Peggy Conaway Deel. He was an owner and operator of a construction company and was a member of Little David Old Regular Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Young. Survivors include his wife, Sharon Deel, a son, Randy (Brenda) Deel of Haysi, a daughter, Brenda Haynes of Greeneville, SC, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a brother, Clayton Deel of Haysi, and two sisters, Vernell Gilbert and Hazel Conaway both of Haysi. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Sunday, November 22, 2020 at Emmanuel Old Regular Baptist Church with Elders David O’quinn and Jerry Newsome officiating. Burial will follow in the Randy and Brenda Deel Family Cemetery, Haysi. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
