James “Jim” S. Ricci, a longtime resident of Livingston, went to heaven on Friday, November 20, 2020 surrounded by his loved ones.  A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, November 25th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 39 View Vista Dr.  Livingston, MT.   Masks are required. Graveside committal and burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.  The service will be livestreamed at www.facebook.com/Livingstonstmarys. James was born January 26, 1932 to Sam G. and Theresa M. (Armentaro) Ricci, the third of five boys in Livingston.  Jim was united in marriage to Shirley Young in Livingston on July 28, 1951 and they enjoyed a blessed 67 years together. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Jim played football through high school and loved sharing those fond memories.  After graduating high school, Jim began working for the railroad and then worked for various grocery stores across Montana.  In 1978 Jim and Shirley built Ricci’s Thriftway where he worked until he retired. He loved to bake and cook.  Many of his recipes were his own creations or they came from his Italian roots which he passed along to his children and grandchildren.  Jim’s life was centered around his faith and family, which he took great pride in. He loved to make us laugh, taught us the meaning of unconditional love, and had a heart of gold. The Christmas season was his favorite time of year. The Ricci Christmas was filled with family, traditional dishes, and his favorite: Santa! Jim is survived by his six children, Theresa Tracy, Vince (Debbie) Ricci, Kathy (Todd) Quisel, Greg (Gordy Ann) Ricci, Terry (Dairene) Ricci, and Janice (Craig) Carlson, as well as 17 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and sister-in-law Rosetta Ricci.  He was preceeded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley, his parents Sam and Theresa Ricci, grandson Larry Quisel, son-in-law, Dennis Tracy, and brothers, Victor, Emil, John and Robert Ricci.  The family requests memorials be sent to the St Mary’s Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 646, Livingston, MT 59047.  Franzen-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.
