Lillie Mae Harris

Mrs. Lillie Mae Rabb Edmond Lomax Harris, daughter of the late L.C. (Bip) Rabb and Clara D. Rabb, was born on March 7, 1940 in Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina.  She joined the Mount Pleasant CME Church at an early age and served faithfully until it closed.  She graduated from Twin City High School in Batesburg-Leesville in 1957; after which, she met and married the late Alonzo Edmond, Sr.  Five children were born in this marriage:  Vivian, Dian, Carolyn, Alonzo, Jr. and Alfred Edmond.  Years passed thereafter and the marriage dissolved. 

In 1980, she married the late Stanton D Lomax and moved to Washington, DC.  In 1991, she joined the Israel Metropolitan CME Church.  While a member and serving faithfully, she joined the Stewardess Board #1 under the Pastoralship of Rev. Wardell Bonner.

In 2008, she relocated back home to South Carolina after being in Washington, DC for over 28 years.  In September 2010, she joined the Olive Branch Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. James E. Dukes.  She was a member of the Pastor’s Aid Ministry and the Seniors’ Ministry.  She did whatever she could, when she could in every way. 

On November 15, 2014, Lillie married her dream, Wilbur Harris, Sr.  To this union, she gained four step-children:  Kenny, Keith, Wilbur, Jr. and the late Carolyn H. West.

Lillie was preceded in death by both her parents and one sister, Linda C. Rabb

Her survivors include:  a loving husband – Wilbur Harris, Sr. of the home; three daughters and sons-in-law – Vivian (Rev. Lonnie) West of Aiken, South Carolina, Dian (Michael) Davis of Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina and Carolyn (William) Tobe of Newberry, South Carolina; two sons and daughter-in-law – Alonzo, Jr. (Yvette) Edmond of Columbia, Maryland and Alfred Edmond of Palm Bay, Florida; grandchildren – Britney, Lonnie, Jr., Jeromie, Kimberly, Jessica, Carla, Eric, Patrice, Paula, Asia, Mario, Thomas and Maya; great-grandchildren – Mikaela, Jalyn, Christian, Mekhail, Ahmir, Leilani, Logan, Gabrielle, Gavin, Riana, Rylee, Laya, Mila, Elle, Lyric, Rhyan and Bentley; one great-great-granddaughter – Kylee; a cousin whom she loved like a sister – Mertha Davis and B.J. Morris Williams, whom she called “her girl”; two sisters-in-law – Dorothy Goodwin of Columbia, South Carolina and Joan Foulks of Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
