George J. Forrest, 73, a long time resident of Havertown, Pa. passed away Tuesday November 19, 2020. He was born July 13, 1947 in Philadelphia, Pa to Anna Miller and George F. Forrest. George was predeceased by his parents Anna and George Forrest and his sister Kathy Hennessy. He is survived by his siblings: Joseph (Carol), Mary Lou Carey (Walt), James (Victoria), John, Diana Foraker (Skip) and his brother-in-law, Billy Hennessy. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews. George graduated from Monsignor Bonner in 1966. After graduation he got a job at 1st Pennsylvania Bank which is now Wells Fargo and was there for 42 years. After he retired from his job he volunteered at Manna for the past 10 years. George was never married but he would brag about all of his siblings and nephews and nieces. He never missed sending a birthday or anniversary card to his family members. He knew everyone’s date of birth. To say George was an avid Philadelphia sports fan is an understatement. He loved the Eagles and was a die hard fan . George was always quick to volunteer for any cause at Sacred Heart. George loved his family and extended family and everyone loved him. Family and friends may call 6 to 8 PM Monday November 23 and 9 to 10 AM Tuesday November 24, in the Funeral Home of John Stretch, 236 E. Eagle Rd, Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 AM Tuesday in Sacred Heart Church, Manoa Rd, Havertown. Interment is in SS Peter & Paul Cemetery. All attendees are to wear masks, practice social distancing and avoid physical contact. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to Manna, 420 N. 20th St, Phila., Pa 19130. mannapa.org
