Mr. Christopher S. VanSwearingen
<p>Mr. Christopher S. VanSwearingen, 31, of Galesburg passed away at 7:26 am Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at OSF St. Medical Center, Galesburg.</p> <p>Chris was born March 7, 1989 in Galesburg, the son of Gregory Lee and Lisa A. (Kincaid) VanSwearingen.</p> <p>Chris is survived by his children, Kyler Lee Powell VanSwearingen and Havannah Rayne VanSwearingen and their mother, Kayla Powell of Kewanee, Illinois; his mother Lisa VanSwearingen of Galesburg; two brothers, Randy Lee Swearingen of Galesburg and Ben (Megan) Swearingen of Monmouth, Illinois; three sisters, Jamie Ann Marie VanSwearingen, Misty Lynn (Jareth Parkin) VanSwearingen and Amber Marie Dawn VanSwearingen all of Galesburg; four nieces, Brooklyn and Brianna Keever, Makayla Swearingen and Myia Parkin and one nephew, Terry Swearingen; his special friend, Amanda Payne of Galesburg; two uncles, Daniel and Charlie Kincaid and many more extended family. He is preceded in death by his father, and his grandparents.</p> <p>Although Chris suffered with many health issues, he had a love for the outdoors and fishing by the dam of Lake Storey whenever he could. He lived his life the best he could for his children. Kyler and Havannah were his pride and joy.</p> <p>Chris had requested to be cremated with a Celebration of his life to be held when everyone could gather together. Memorials may be made to the family to establish a memorial fund for his children. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services are assisting his family with arrangements.
