Ralph Wilson Gates, Jr., 70, of Surfside Beach, SC passed away Thursday, November 19, 2020 at his residence. He was born October 05, 1950 in Ludlow, MA son of the late Ralph Wilson Gates, Sr. and Patricia Berthena Wheeler Gates.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a daughter, Rebekah Gates and brother-in-law, Ken Latour.

Ralph is survived by his loving wife, Rosemarie A. DiLuzio-Gates of Surfside Beach; two daughters, Renata Morrissette and her husband Paul of Surfside Beach and Angelina Roy of Covington, CT; one son, Ryder Tietz and his wife Wendy of Brimfield, MA; sister, Judith Latour of Conway, SC; niece, Sandra Jarvis and her husband Richard of Myrtle Beach; one nephew, Scott Latour of Conway, SC; five grandchildren; and one great grandson.

Ralph was retired from Hasbro Inc. where he worked as a forklift operator. He enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling. He also proudly served in the United States Marines.

There are no formal services planned.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made in Ralph’s name to the Marine Corps League Foundation, 2904 Cross Creek Drive, Cumming, GA 30040
