Edna Leona Whitley -GFH

Black Oak- Edna Leona Pearl Whitley, 94, passed away Thursday, November 19, 2020 at Monette Manor. She was born June 10, 1926 in Macey to the late Tom and Vercie Hill. She was a homemaker and a member of the Black Oak Church of Christ. Mrs. Whitley enjoyed working in her yard and cooking dinner every Sunday and holidays for her family. She dearly loved her family and her church family. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Whitley; two daughters, Wyvonne Whitley and Pat Whitley; a son, Wayne Whitley; two grandsons, Kevin James and Kim Qualls; a great-granddaughter, Kynzee Reece Liles; two brothers, Van Hill and Alphis Hill and four sisters, Ella Mae Wallace, Bea Calvert, Zella Violet Hill and Jewell Hill. She is survived by two daughters, Peggy Holland (George Edd) and Deb Dunigan (Eddie); a daughter-in-law, Cathy Whitley; grandchildren, Kirk Qualls, Kris James, Nichole Brewer, Brooke Patterson, Tommy Dunigan, Johnny Dunigan, Leah Gathright, Rachel Hickman, Kristy Liles, Bishop Whitley, Kendra Hawkins and Jodiee Grubbs; many loving great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Gregg Funeral Home. A celebration of her life will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Tim Bassing and Eddie Dunigan officiating. Interment will follow at Monette Memorial Cemetery. Honored to serve as pallbearers are her grandsons, Kirk Qualls, Kris James, Tommy Dunigan, Johnny Dunigan, Bishop Whitley, Branden Qualls, Jason Brewer, Justin Patterson, Justin Gathright, Brett Hickman, Aaron Liles and Blake Hawkins. All attendees must wear masks and observe social distancing guidelines. Lasting memorials may be sent to St. Judes Children Hospital or Children Homes Inc. in Paragould.
