Louise LaBelle Micke

<p>Louise (LaBelle) Micke died peacefully on Tuesday, November 17 at home with her family around her after a long battle with kidney disease and vascular dementia.</p> <p>&nbsp;Louise was born on February 8, 1939 in Edgartown, MA to Louis and Angela LaBelle.&nbsp; After growing up on Martha&rsquo;s Vineyard, she moved to California after high school to be closer to her brother, Roland LaBelle.&nbsp; Louise worked for UC Davis Pomology Extension where she met her husband of 58 years, Warren Micke.&nbsp; After moving to Hayward, Santa Barbara, and Auburn, they finally settled in Davis in 1964, where they raised their two children, Catherine and Stephen.</p> <p>Louise worked as a paraeducator for DJUSD, mainly working in the special ed department. She loved her time working with students and enjoyed seeing them around town years after they graduated.</p> <p>Louise was very involved in her childrens&rsquo; lives and activities, and has been manager of various sports teams, scorekeeper, and club leader.&nbsp; She enjoyed singing in the church choir, playing golf, knitting, and spending time with her pets. Most of all, she loved being a mother and grandmother!</p> <p>Louise is survived by her husband Warren Micke, her daughter Catherine Pereira, her son Stephen Micke, her grandchildren Briana Pereira, Sofia Pereira, Jordyn Micke, and Joshua Micke, (all of Davis), and her brother Paul LaBelle (Florida). She is predeceased by her parents, and her brother Roland.</p> <p>There will be a public viewing at Smith Funeral Home (116 D St, Davis) on Monday 11/23 from 4-7 pm. Due to COVID, there will be a private funeral mass for family only, but a public burial at Davis Cemetery on Tuesday, 11/24 at 11:00, following COVID guidelines.</p> <p>Louise&rsquo;s family wish to thank the caregivers at APEX, Yolo Hospice, and Doctors Alcalay and Cotterel, for their excellent care of Louise.</p> <p>In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity.</p>
