Manuel Da Cruz Gomes, 65, of Newark. passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2020, at University Hospital in Newark, NJ. He was born in Vilarinho do Bairro, Anadia Portugal, moved to Camarneira, Covoes, Cantanhede, Portugal before coming to the US in 1981. Manny was a Laborer for Cruz Construction of Holmdel, NJ from 1984-2000 and DSC Trucking until retiring in 2010. He was a member of Teamsters Local 560 and IBT Local 282. Manny was a member of Clube dos Cacadores of Newark. Beloved husband of Isabel Dias (nee Coimbra) Gomes; brother of Osorio Inacio and his wife Rosa; dear uncle of Rui Inacio and his wife Alana, Sonia Marchesini and her husband Vincent and Jason Inacio and his wife Rosa; great-uncle of Lucas, Matthew, Marissa and Nicholas. The Funeral and Visitation for Manny will be held on Monday, November 23, 2020 from 8:30 - 10:00 am at the Buyus Funeral Home, 426 Lafayette St., at Wilson Ave, Newark, NJ 07105. Thence to St. James Church, where at 10:30 am the Funeral Mass will be offered. Entombment at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington, NJ. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org would be graciously appreciated.
