Piedmont - Betty Jean Hinson Batson, 80, wife of the late William “Bill” E. Batson, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2020. Born in Lyman, she was a daughter of the late I.B. and Lucille Green Hinson. She was formerly employed with Piedmont Shirt and was a member of West Gantt First Baptist Church. She is survived by son, Phillip E. Batson (Tracey) of Greenville; daughters, Wilma Rhinehart (Mike) of Greenville and Gail Batson of Piedmont; grandchildren, Carey Michael “Mick” Rhinehart, Jr., William Bradley “Brad” Rhinehart, and Joseph “Joey” E. Batson; great-grandchildren, Mason Lewis Rhinehart and Marlee Rae Rhinehart; two brothers; and six sisters. She was predeceased by sister, Jeanette Cable. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 pm Saturday, November 21, at West Gantt First Baptist Church. The service will follow at 2:00 pm in the church. Burial will be at Greenville Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to West Gantt First Baptist Church, 1452 White Horse Rd., Greenville, SC 29605 or Alzheimer’s Association, 123 West Antrim Dr., Greenville, SC 29607.
