<p>SHIELDS Jr., Ernest age 85 departed his life early Tuesday morning November 17, 2020 at Grandview Medical Center Dayton, Ohio. he was a native of Hazlehurst, Mississippi and a resident of Dayton, Ohio majority of his life. He served honorably in the United States Army. Mr. Shields was preceded in death by his son Ernest Shields III and step daughter Denise Edwards.</p> <p>He is survived by his loving family; his wife of 43 years, Mary Shields, thier son Kevin and his wife Aileen, his grandchildren, his brother Donald and his wife. He also survived by relatives-cousins, niece, and nephews, who all love him dearly.</p> <p>He was known for Shields Barbeque of Dayton Ohio and was successful for over 55years. Prior to owning and operating the restaurant, he started working at Cups Cafeteria, then sold insurance and worked at Inland Manufacturing. He started on the assembly line and promoted in the engineering department. Ernest graduated from Hazlehurst High School and later studied accounting courses at Miami Jacobs Career College. He was very hardworking and loyal to his work, as he dedicated his life to providing the city of Dayton quality service and food, always striving to improve, leaving Dayton a great legacy.</p> <p> Funeral service 12 pm Tuesday December 1, 2020 viewing 11 am at All Nations Bible Fellowship Church, 3819 Kings Highway Dayton, Ohio 45406.
