Adrien “Andy” Cayer

January 29, 1940 – November 17, 2020

In loving memory of Adrien “Andy” Cayer who passed away at St. Joseph’s Villa surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at the age of 80 years. Dear son of late August and Yvonne (née Richer) Cayer. Loving father of Mike (Ruth), baby Gary (predeceased), Randy (Vicki), Kelly (predeceased), Tracy (Marcel “Yogi”) and Jo-Anne. Dear Grandpa of Andy, Pat, Tiffany (Marc), Miranda (Mathieu), Marissa (Andrew), Samantha, Jordyn and Matthew. Great-Grandpa of Alexis, Jayce and Olivia. He is also survived by his siblings Louise (late Joseph), George (late Noella), Annette (late August), Paul (late Vanda), Jerome (Yvonne), Anita (Jean-Pierre) and Yvon. Predeceased by his siblings Daurice (late Lorraine), Marie (late Jim), Leonard (Barbara), Tony (late Helene), Edmond (late Germaine), Normand, Claudette (late Victor), Irene (Al), Larry, Anna (Euclide) and baby Berttine. He will be missed by his nieces, nephews and many friends. Andy loved his family deeply and they were important to him.

Andy was a social butterfly with a great sense of humour that would make everyone laugh. In his earlier years, he was a business owner who took pride in his great work ethic as an automotive painter and body man with a passion for antique cars. He loved listening and dancing to country music, cooking, gardening, doing puzzles and painting. He also received a volunteer appreciation award from St. Joseph’s Villa.

The family would like to thank ICAN for their years of support and the amazing staff and volunteers at St. Joseph’s Villa who cared for our Dad over the past two years. A special thank you to Kristin Long for her kindness and compassion, as well as to Chaplain Donna Scott for her prayers and thoughtfulness.

Due to COVID-19, there will be no visitation. A burial and a family celebration of life will be held at a later date. A Mass intention will be said at Holy Redeemer. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Joseph’s Foundation or charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. Cremation arrangements are in care of Simple Wishes of the North.
