Dennis "Denny" Joel Sears, age 70 of Concord Township passed away peacefully November 17, 2020. He was born July 9, 1950 in Akron, Ohio to Wilbur and Ruth (Diven) Sears. He grew up in Brimfield, Ohio, and graduated from Field High School in 1968. Denny was funny, gentle, honorable, kind, sociable, and well-liked; He was a hard worker, resilient, and a true survivor; a loving, devoted husband and adored and dedicated father. He retired from the United States Postal Service after 39 years of service as a Mail Carrier in Kent, Mentor, and Chesterland. In that time, he also served as a Union Steward and helped to collect, organize, and deliver food for local food drives. He loved his childhood friends and made many new friends along his mail routes, within the neighborhood, and at his daughter’s Alma Mater, Riverside High School, where he served as Band Booster President, and attended a number of their booster, club, and sporting events. He enjoyed spending time outdoors at his childhood homestead adjacent to the Mogadore Reservoir, and over the years also enjoyed inland boating and fishing across Lake and Geauga counties. He was an avid music lover and had a terrific memory for music and sports trivia. He is survived by his wife of 48 years Donna (Wilson) Sears and only daughter Jennifer (Sears) Nelson and his son-in-law Rob Nelson. He leaves behind his beloved brothers and their wives David (Connie) Sears and Terry (Shirley) Sears, nieces and nephews Steve (Laura) Sears, Mike (Lisa) Sears, Matthew Sears, Kristen Higgins (Troy), Elizabeth Sears, Nathan (Brandy) Sears, and Bradley, and many great nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his beloved mother-in-law Ivadean Wilson, sister-in law Carol Wilson, brothers-in-law Jeffrey (Brenda) Wilson and Tom Wilson, nieces and nephews Kathy (Doug) Wetzel, Nikki (Dennis) Nevar, Becky Wilson, and a great niece and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Wilbur and Ruth, father-in-law George Wilson, and brothers-in-law Arthur (Carol) Wilson and David Wilson.
