JAMES ROBERT “JIM” SHARP, age 72 of Clanton, passed away suddenly on November 17, 2020 at St. Vincent-Chilton Hospital in Clanton. He was born in Chilton County on July 19, 1948; the son of the late Rollie Sharp and the late Louise Jenkins Sharp.
He was a former supervisor with the State of Alabama Department of Transportation. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was dedicated to his church, Shiloh Baptist Church, and was always willing to help his family, friends, and church whenever he was needed.
He is survived by: Wife, Hilda Sharp of Clanton; Daughter, Jennifer (Rickey) Mims of Verbena; Son, Chris Sharp of Clanton; Granddaughter, Bridget (Anthony) Marcus of Clanton; Grandson, Blake (Carrie) Mims of Verbena; Great-Grandsons, Will Marcus and Dylan Marcus of Clanton; and Sister, Donna (Don) Rucker of Maplesville.
He is preceded in death by: Parents, Rollie and Louise Sharp; and Brother, John Sharp.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at 2:00pm from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Clanton with Rev. Ernest Fike officiating.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Burial will follow in the Shiloh Baptist Cemetery in Clanton, AL.
