Obituary – Donna Jean McCullough Donna Jean McCullough, age 66, was born October 16, 1954, in Decatur County, Iowa to Hinton Alan “Red” and Virginia Elizabeth (Merry) McCullough. She died at Unity Point Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa on November 17, 2020. Donna grew up and attended school in Leon, Iowa. She worked at Annie’s Café and then Leon Care Center, both in Leon, Iowa. Over the years, she was married to Larry “Dude” Manchester, Jerry Hunt, Randy Name, and James Rains. Donna enjoyed crocheting afghans and doll clothes, baking, and playing Bingo. She loved her cat, MoMo. She lived the past many years in various nursing homes in the area. Preceding her in death were her parents; and several of her siblings. Survivors include her sisters, Judy Smith and companion Mike Jones, of Leon, Iowa and Cheryl Roberts and husband, Lynn of Derby, Iowa; other siblings; nieces and nephews, Sheila & Jens Deemer of Decatur, Iowa, Shawn Martin of Leon, Russ & Sandy Hall of Evansville, Indiana, and Cherry & Stephen Rehbein of Winterset, Iowa; great nieces and nephews, Sydney, Aspen, Chase, Axel, Ashley, Cassie, Brandon, and Jack; great, great niece, Sophia; and other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held at the Slade – O’Donnell Funeral Home in Leon, Iowa at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 24, 2020, with Pastor David McPherson officiating. Burial will be in Leon Cemetery at a later date.
