DARTMOUTH-Betty A. (Mello) Nobre, 76, of South Dartmouth died Monday, November 16, 2020 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Richard C. Nobre with whom she shared 39 years of marriage and daughter of the late Joseph and Madeline (Alves) Mello. Born in Providence, RI, she resided in Connecticut for several years, then in Providence and relocated to New Bedford in 1970. She resided in Dartmouth for 40 years. Mrs. Nobre was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church. She was employed by Tremblay's Bus Company as a van driver for individuals with special needs until her retirement. Mrs. Nobre loved to socialize and entertain and was known for her keen sense of fashion. She enjoyed decorating for the holidays, shopping, especially on QVC, traveling and trips to the casino. Her family includes her husband, Richard C. Nobre of South Dartmouth; 1 son, Antonio Nobre of North Carolina; 2 daughters, Dulcieann Mello and Venus Mello, both of New Bedford; 4 brothers, Anthony Mello of Wareham, David Mello of Woonsocket, RI, Daniel Mello of Groton, CT and Mark Mello of Florida; 20 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Belinda Ilarraza and sister of the late Joseph Mello and Felicia LeBlanc. Visiting hours Sunday, November 22, 2020 from 2:00-4:00 P.M. Due to mandated restrictions, her service and interment are private. Please be advised that due to the Covid-19 pandemic, there are strict guidelines that must be adhered to for the safety of everyone. You MUST wear a mask to be allowed entry to the services. Please practice social distancing and avoid any close contact. Guests will be permitted to pay their respects and depart to allow the next guests to enter. Capacity at the funeral home will be limited so there could be wait times outside the funeral home. Your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated.
