The life of Mrs. Lula Belle Pearson Bristow began on January 20, 1940, and lasted until the angels came for her on November 16, 2020. Mrs. Bristow was born in Bennettsville, SC, to Willie and Nealie Pearson. She was the eldest of 18 children and was her mother’s right-hand child. As a young child, she attended Green Pond Church of God in Gibson, NC, where she accepted Christ into her life at an early age. Later in life, she became a faithful member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in High Point, NC. She was married to Frank Bristow, Sr., on April 21, 1956, and they relocated to High Point, NC, where they resided as husband and wife for fifty-five years until he preceded her in death on June 27, 2011. From this sacred union, there are five children: Mrs. Linda Bryson (Farrell), Mr. Frank Bristow, Jr., Mr. Randy Maurice Bristow (Martha, deceased 2020), Mr. Randall Bristow, Sr. (Robin), and Mrs. April McGhee (Gavin). There are also ten grandchildren: Shavonna, Adrienne, Brandon (Courtney), Sandy, Rashaad, Randall Jr., Ryan, Michael, and Khalil. There are four great-grandchildren: MaKayla, Elisha, Kaira, and Lyric. Mrs. Bristow was employed and retired from Highland Yarn Mill and Guilford County Schools at Shadybrook Elementary, respectively. As a member of Friendship Baptist Church, Mrs. Bristow participated in the missionary board and choir, and she frequently donated clothes to those who were less fortunate. Mrs. Bristow loved spending time with her family, traveling, cooking, and shopping. After the death of her father, mother, and husband, she became the matriarch of the Pearson family. Mrs. Bristow’s beloved dog, “Toby”, was a faithful companion, and whenever she moved, Toby was right beside her.  Surviving siblings: Earl (Peggy) Pearson, David Pearson, Martha (Luis) Pearson, Mary Pearson (Douglas) Smith, Magaline Pearson, and Joyce Pearson Fair. Also surviving Mrs. Bristow are her brother and sisters-in-law, Ricky Lawson, Edith Pearson, and Mary Ann.Mrs. Bristow was preceded in death by her husband Frank Bristow; a granddaughter, Tina Renee; her siblings, Alice Mae Smith, James Willie Pearson, Willie James, Walter Pearson, Frank Lee Pearson, and Theodore Pearson; also, sisters- and brothers-in-law.Mrs. Bristow also has a host of other relatives and friends. She loved life, and it loved her back. She also loved suits and hats, and she wore them well, but most of all, she loved the Lord and her family and friends. Lula Bell, aka “Bell”, aka “Doody,” and Frank are watching over us all.
