Obituary

Nancy L. Porter of Mason City, Iowa, died at age 85 of COVID-19 complications, in Byron, Illinois.  She was survived by her 3 children, Sharon (James) Lane, Steven (Dale) Lawless, and Dawn Thevenot; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.  She also has a surviving sister, Marylyn VanPatten; and two brothers, Robert Maxson and Donald Maxson; along with many nieces and nephews.

Nancy retired from the U.S. Postal Service - a job she loved.  As kids we remember the summer times in California when mom would work crazy hours but always made sure she had time to take us to the beach or up the mountains in the winter.  We will always remember her as the greatest mom ever!!  She taught us great life lessons that helped us as children and adults.

Nancy desired to be cremated with no services.  She did not want us to mourn her death, but celebrate her life. She was loved very much and will be missed by all of her family.
