Sandra Lee King was born on October 9, 1951 at her parents' home in Hermiston, Oregon. She passed on to her eternal home on November 14, 2020 at Ol’ Thyme Adult Foster Care in Hermiston, where she had lived for almost 2 years. 

 

Sandra grew up in Hermiston until, at the age of 12, her family moved to a ranch on the Echo meadows. She graduated Echo High School in 1969. Sandra had taken classes from Blue Mountain Community College during high school then went on to attend college in Minot, North Dakota. She attended Minot State and Northwest Bible College where she received her Associate of Arts degree. Sandra then moved to Denver, Colorado for a few years before returning to Hermiston. 

 

Sandra worked at Lamb Weston in Hermiston for 41 years, retiring September, 2019. While there she worked in many departments, finally settling in the position of manifestor.  

 

Sandra was a strong, determined lady who also had a tender heart and loved doing for others. She would often cook or bake something to share with others at work.  She’d buy gifts for nieces and nephews, their favorites being the Easter baskets she gave every year. She loved to read and was hardly ever seen without a book in hand. 

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby and Mona King, and niece Melissa Zumwalt Fiocchi. She is survived by her brother, Del King of Santa Rosa CA, sisters, Barbara Zumwalt (Larry) of Tacoma WA and Amy McMasters (Larry) of Mountain Home, ID, along with nieces and nephews, friends and other family members who have a hope of seeing her again.

 

Sandra's family would like to express their deep appreciation to caregivers Daniel and Alaura Mack and the staff at Ol' Thyme Adult Foster Care, and to the staff at Morrow County Hospice and Vance John Memorial Hospice in Hermiston, OR  

A private burial will be at the Hermiston Cemetery, Hermiston, Oregon.
