Perch Harris Obituary

Patricia L. Harris, 63, of rural Cozad died Sunday November 15th 2020, in Lincoln Nebraska.

Perch was born February 4th, 1957 in Gothenburg Nebr. to Tony and Bernice (Rasmussen) Gronewold.
She grew up in Gothenburg and graduated from Gothenburg High School in 1975. She then attended
Kearney State College.

On May 19th, 1979 she married James Harris on her family farm north of Gothenburg. The couple first
lived near Brady, Nebr. Then in 1985 moved to their home south of Gothenburg, where it took her
several years before she was able to claim to be a "Southsider".

She was a lifelong member of the American Lutheran Church in Gothenburg. Perch was a member of
the Getaways Extension Club for 35 years. Perch had a knack for gardening and raising flowers and had
many gardens as well as a love for house plants. She was always surrounded by dogs and cats her entire
life and had many special ones but none like Gus. Perch had been employed at Pete's Lounge, Ribbons
and Roses Floral, and her last job was as a truck dispatcher for the Nebraska Salt and Grain Co.

Surviving relatives include her husband of 41 years James of rural Cozad; daughter Barrie and husband
Adam Kuhn of Lincoln; sister Carol and husband Ron Hudson of Shelton; brother Loren Gronewold and
wife Carol of Sedona, Az., brother-in-law Mike Ripp of Kearney; and brother-in-law Carol Kinnaman of
Bloomington, lI.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Karma Ripp and Karen Kinnaman.

Services will be held at American Lutheran Church, November 20, 2020 at 10:30 am with Pastor Jon Mapa officiating.  

Face Masks are required at the American Lutheran Church.

Memorials are suggested to the American Lutheran Church or the Gothenburg Volunteer Fire Dept.
