George. T. McHenry passed away at Jersey City Medical Center on Saturday, November 14, 2020. He was 76. Born in Jersey City, George was a graduate of Dickinson High School. He was a true native son of Jersey City remaining at his Union Street home for more than 26 years and working in the Jersey City Department of Parks for over 35 years before retiring in 2010. He was a lifelong parishioner of St. Patrick's Church. George, a loving son, brother and friend, was predeceased by his parents the late Daniel and Clara (née O'Dell); brother Daniel McHenry and sister Clara McHenry. George is survived by his dear friends Dago and Elvia Ortiz and their children Ivan, Joanna, Favian and Karina Ortiz whom all loved him very much and were blessed to have him as part of their family. Visitation will be at McLaughlin Funeral Home, 625 Pavonia Ave., Jersey City on Thursday November 19, 2020 from 2-6 PM. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick R.C. Church on Friday morning at 10 AM. Interment to follow in the family plot at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
