<p> </p> <p><span style="font-size:14px;">Holyoke-George G. Benard , 86, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2020 at Holyoke Hospital with family by his side. He has rejoined his beloved wife of 63 years, Claire B. (Brouillette) Benard, who passed on April 14, 2020.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px;">Born in Chicopee to the late Albert and Loretta (Viens) Benard, George was one of 9 children. He left school at a young age to help support his family. George worked for many years at City Window Cleaning before starting his own business, George's Window Cleaning.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px;">George's life centered around his family. He loved gathering with family and friends for cards, cookouts and vacations at Misquamicut Beach. He found comfort in tinkering, puttering and fixing things. George was a kind, caring and loving soul who gave his time unselfishly and went out of his way to help others.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px;">In addition to his wife, George was predeceased by 3 brothers Albert, Rudolph and Raymond, and 3 sisters Theresa Menard, Marie Deitz and Janet Whittaker. He will be greatly missed by his three children Kenneth (Nancy) of Becket, Donald (Nancy) of Chicopee and Judith Crooks of Holyoke; his seven grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, two brothers Robert (Rita) of Chicopee, Paul (Linda) of Bondsville, a brother-in-law Leo Brouillette (Jill) of Scotland and many nieces and nephews.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px;">At this time all services will be private, his interment will be held in the Notre Dame Cemetery, South Hadley at a later date.
